Ten players from the Premier League have made the shortlist for the 2024 Ballon d'Or, which features nominees from four clubs. The list was unveiled on Wednesday.
Leading the nominations are Arsenal and Manchester City, each with four players. From Arsenal, the nominees include Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, William Saliba, and Bukayo Saka. Manchester City is represented by Ruben Dias, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, and Rodri.
Additionally, Chelsea's Cole Palmer and Aston Villa's goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez are included among the nominees. They aim to join the ranks of just two Premier League players who have previously won the award: Michael Owen in 2001 and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008.
The announcement of the winners will take place on 28 October at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.
Martinez is also in contention for the Yashin Trophy, which honors the best goalkeeper, as he seeks to win it for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola is nominated for the Men's Team Coach of the Year Trophy.
In addition, Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, along with Manchester City’s Savinho, are up for the Kopa Trophy, awarded to the best player under 21. This award was previously won by Matthijs de Ligt in 2019 while he was with Juventus.
Manchester City is among five clubs nominated for the Men's Club of the Year, aiming for a third consecutive win in this category.
