Mohamed Salah expressed that Liverpool had the potential to secure a more significant victory against Manchester United than the 3-0 result achieved at Old Trafford. Salah found the net for the seventh consecutive time at this venue, bringing his total to 10 goals in nine appearances, while also assisting the first two goals for Luis Diaz during the match.

“It was an excellent outcome,” Salah stated. “The derby holds great significance for the fans and the city. We must continue to win if we aim to compete for the league title. I was involved in three goals, which makes me happy. The manager encourages us to press high, and we capitalized on a few mistakes, which aligned with our strategy.”

When asked if the match was easy, Salah admitted, “I agree, I was somewhat taken aback. The score could have easily been five or six. The new manager has a specific style he wants everyone to adopt, and he has held meetings with senior players to emphasize the importance of setting a good example for the younger squad members.”

Salah also suggested that this season might be his last with Liverpool, as his contract is set to expire in June 2025. “Honestly, as I approached the game, I thought it could be my final appearance at Old Trafford,” he commented. “No one at the club has discussed contracts with me. The decision lies with the club.”
