Callum Hudson-Odoi marked his return to the Premier League with a stunning debut goal for Nottingham Forest as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Burnley, earning the Clarets their first point of the season.
In the first-ever Premier League meeting between the two sides, Forest started the stronger, with Hudson-Odoi’s early effort forcing a save from James Trafford. Forest equalised in the 61st minute thanks to Hudson-Odoi's superb curling shot from outside the area into the top-right corner. It was his first goal in the competition since scoring in a 7-0 win for Chelsea against Norwich City in October 2021, while he is the first Forest player to score on his Premier League debut since Geoff Thomas against Arsenal in August 1998.
Both sides pushed on in search of a winner, and Burnley thought they had taken the lead for a second time on 76 minutes through Foster. However, his goal was overturned following a VAR review for a deliberate handball by substitute Sander Berge in the build-up. Burnley were then reduced to 10-men in stoppage time as Foster was sent off for violent conduct following another VAR review, after catching Ryan Yates with an elbow, but they managed to hold on for a point.
It is only the second point picked up by any of the three promoted teams, after Sheffield United drew 2-2 with Everton in Matchweek 4. Forest move up to eighth on seven points.
